Please do not assure to clients that we will be able to
enroll them as we may have to provide referrals if they do not meet research
criteria.
If you have any questions regarding a referral or possible exceptions to our criteria, please call and consult with our intake staff. Potential clients should know that they can also call for information only. There is no obligation and we place no pressure to participate.
Agreement to enter the study
involves agreement to:
1.
Stay in treatment for
6-8 months;
2.
Participate in an
adaptation of the DBT treatment program which includes both group and
individual treatment and which
will be taped;
3.
Complete a 10-minute
weekly record that may include ratings of eating behaviors, mood and suicidal
behaviors.
4.
Pay a sliding scale
fee for therapy sessions.
5.
Pay for and obtain
medical assessment or monitoring for eating problems and related problems if
requested by your therapist.
6.
Not seek additional
professional mental health treatment not approved by your individual

requires it, work with your prescribing health provider to taper off these
medications (e.g. antidepressants) in the course of treatment. This is a cost
that you would incur;

assessments which are taped during the course of the study.
